Punching Pliers are suitable to make holes in belts that have clip with bar. Make a pinhole into the firmer fabric (leatherette, leather, suede) and thread it through the buckle.
The size of the pinhole is 2 x 1.4 mm, but by using the pinhole when you pierce it, you will get a 2 x 7 mm dimension.
